Retainer Policy
When you begin your project with Design Studio Morgan, a Retainer will be written up. Think of this as a kind of project deposit - an agreed upon percentage that must be paid to see your project to completion. The final payment is billed when your project is delivered.
Retainers Offer You Certainty In Design Studio Morgan
Thank you for choosing Design Studio Morgan for your project needs. This policy outlines our terms regarding project retainers. We require a retainer for most projects to secure our services, allocate resources, and begin work. This retainer acts as a commitment from both parties to the project's successful completion.
Retainer Amount:
The specific retainer amount will be determined based on the scope and complexity of each individual project and will be clearly outlined in your project invoice. Generally, retainers range from 25% - 50% of the total project cost, but this can vary.
Purpose of Retainer:
The retainer serves several key purposes:
- Secures Project Start: It guarantees your project's place in our schedule and allows us to dedicate the necessary resources to it.
- Covers Initial Costs: It helps cover the initial costs associated with project setup, planning, research, and other preliminary work.
- Demonstrates Commitment: It signifies your commitment to moving forward with the project and fosters a collaborative partnership.
Payment of Retainer:
The retainer is due upon signing of the project proposal or contract. Work on the project will not commence until the retainer payment is received.
Retainer Application:
The retainer amount will be applied towards the total project cost. Invoices for subsequent milestones or project completion will reflect the deduction of the retainer. Most projects have only two milestones, beginning and end. These are laid out in your project scope which is usually sent to you with your retainer.
Refunds of Retainer:
Retainer fees are non-refundable in accordance with the Design Studio Morgan Refund Policy. Due to the investment of time and resources we make upon receipt of a retainer, including project planning, resource allocation, and initial work, refunds are not issued. However, in exceptional circumstances, we may consider a partial refund at our discretion. Any such consideration will be made solely at the discretion of Design Studio Morgan.
Project Cancellation:
If you choose to cancel the project after paying the retainer but before substantial work has been completed, the retainer may be forfeited. The specifics of cancellation and any potential refund will be addressed in your individual project. We strongly encourage open communication regarding any potential project changes or cancellations.
Communication:
We are committed to transparent communication regarding our retainer policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us before signing any agreements. We want to ensure you fully understand our policies before proceeding with your project.
